I didn't really have a lot going on today. Not surprising. So this
will probably be short unless I start rambling. Likely but hopefully
it won't happen.
I emailed a lady about grad school today. Seeing as how it is a
holiday I was not expecting a response, and I didn't get one, so my
expectations were met. But hopefully I will hear from her soon. And
hopefully the ball will begin to roll.
I spent most of my day watching The 4400
on Netflix and making cross stitch patterns. Awhile ago, maybe even
last summer, when I got really into Battlestar Galactica
and watched the entire series in a very short time period, I managed
to exceed the data limit from the cable company. I am afraid that is
going to happen again because there are so many things on Netflix
that I want to watch. And I have a lot of time on my hands. It
should get better when I start working five days a week at the
theater again but I don't know. I guess we'll cross that potentially
inevitable bridge when we come to it.
Cross stitch patterns. I made
several today. Or at least a couple, with two others that I need to
pick a font for. The first is from an ecard I saw: “There are no
limits to what you can accomplish when you are supposed to be doing
something else.” That one took awhile, not only to find the font
and then make it one pixel at a time, but also figuring out how I
wanted to lay it all out. I'm happy with the end result. The second
pattern is a sign from a Calvin and Hobbs
cartoon: “A swift kick in the butt $1.00.” I think it is pretty
funny. I also briefly experimented with making normal computer fonts
really small so I could turn them into cross stitch fonts. A lot of
them get very blurry around the edges but I think there is a chance
some of them could work out.
Tonight we had a family dinner for
Memorial Day. I ate way too much. A quinoa and black bean burger,
deviled eggs, baked beans, potato salad, a corn and Frito's salad
thing, coleslaw, pasta salad, and strawberry rhubarb pie. It was all
really good.
I'm not sure what's on the agenda
tomorrow. There are things I could/should/want to do but there is
also a good chance I'll be incredibly lazy and do absolutely nothing.
