This morning I was on desk for two hours, off for one, and then back
on for one more before lunch. I planned on working on my homebound
stuff, and I did very briefly, but I kept getting distracted by other
things. Like helping patrons, answer chats and emails, and
completing other small tasks. As an example, I came up with a decent
list of read-alikes for Longmire. Also, I got a call from
someone who does something where she has clients. She thought my
budgeting class would have been great for one of her clients and
wanted to know if it would be taught again. I couldn't guarantee
that but I did give her the link to the website where she could
download the presentation and all the other links I covered in the
class. That won't count toward our statistics but at least all my
time and effort have paid off just a little bit more.
While I sat at the desk, a parade went by outside for Veteran's Day.
The library is far from soundproof and the parade was really loud.
But the desk isn't anywhere near a window so I didn't get a chance to
see any of it. Every time I thought about getting up to take a look
I would get a phone call or a chat. Maybe next time.
This afternoon I made decent progress on my homebound stuff. I made
lists and pulled books for my two biggest patrons and one of the
smallest ones. I think I pulled about thirty-two books. That means
next week I'll need to pull about twenty more. Hopefully it will be
easier knowing I am over halfway done. The assistant working tonight
wanted something to do so he was going to make the bookmarks and get
the books bagged up for me. I think everyone else always has an
assistant pull books and do all the processing but I generally do
that myself. It feels weird asking people to do something that I can
do myself. I would not make a good boss.
Tonight I did nothing. For quite awhile I considered working on my
cross stitch but the motivation wasn't there. For anything. I just
watched YouTube videos and tried not to fall asleep. Oh, and I also
confirmed my health insurance for next you. I wanted to talk to the
lady at work about it to find out what I currently have but she was
gone yesterday and today and it was due tonight. So I made my best
guess and I am hoping I didn't forget anything important.
This weekend I will probably do some house related things. Tomorrow
I'm going to go look at furniture with my mom and sister. I also
think I might move my kitchen stuff in, since it's already boxed up
and I can fit it in my car. Maybe not all in the same trip but it'll
all get there eventually. I still need to get ahold of my Dad and
see if I can borrow his ladder so I can clean out my gutters and I
need to talk to him about some other stuff. And then on Sunday,
maybe I'll get the internet.
