November 1, 2016

 It's November. Good grief.

I had a pretty laid back day at work today. I started by setting up my Be Prepared display. I took down the books that were on there, removed them from the display in the catalog, and put them on the sorting shelves behind circulation. Then I was able to put my books up. I like how it turned out. While I was arranging things I opened one of the drawers (it's on the old card catalog) I found a book. I looked it up and it had been marked as missing back in August. I switched it back to available and let the Circulation people know. They were all surprised and wanted to know where I found it. Apparently inside the drawers of the display was the one place they didn't look.

Most of the rest of my morning was spent working on my budget class. Progress. This afternoon I worked a little on my budget stuff but I also started updating statistics stuff from last month. I also had a good conversation with a fellow librarians about TV shows and books. It was a fairly productive, nice day at work.

After dinner my mom and I went over to my new house. That's such a weird thing to say. We were probably over there for a couple hours, walking around the place, looking at all the things that were left, and talking about stuff. It's slowly becoming more real. The whole thing is still a little terrifying, probably more so when I start making monthly payments, but I'm also excited. I am looking forward to getting everything sorted out and all my stuff moved in. I'm sure new stresses will appear to take the place of all the home buying and loan stresses, but I'm kind of over those and ready to move on to something else.

Tonight I continued watching the second season of iZombie. And I got distracted by that because it is now almost midnight and I wanted to go to bed early. I have to be at work by 7:30AM tomorrow morning for an insurance meeting. That's going to be rough. Even with a full night of sleep, which I will be coming up short on. So I'm going to stop writing now and go to bed.
