This morning I was going to work up at seven o'clock but ended up
pushing that back until eight o'clock. Then I got ready and went to
go get my new lenses put in my glasses. That involved sitting and
reading my Kindle for a half an hour, holding it really close to my
face. As soon as I put my glasses on it felt like I was wearing
someone else's glasses. Not so much the feel of them but purely
based on my vision. Things were more clear but they just felt off.
It has been four years since I got a new prescription so the guy told
me it might take a few days for my eyes to adjust to the new lenses.
Hopefully it doesn't take that long. As the day progressed the
feeling got better but I can still feel it in my right eye. The
lenses feel flatter than my old ones so that might be part of it.
The only productive thing I really accomplished today was finishing
my sister's dishcloth. Then I sewed in all the loose ends from that
and the coasters I made before attempting to block them all. I have
an old foam board which I bought for mounting cross stitch stuff but
then never actually used. I wrapped the board in a towel before
spraying the crocheted stuff with water, stretching them to the size
and shape I wanted, and then pinning them to the board. The spray
bottle was a bit of a fail because the nozzle was messed up and it
resembled a leaky water gun more than a spray bottle. But it worked
out in the end. Now I just have to wait for everything to dry.
We'll see how it all turns out.
The rest of my day was less than noteworthy. At some point I need to
start packing stuff. Or at least throwing stuff away that isn't
worth packing. I keep saying I will do it tomorrow. But then
tomorrow turns into today and I bump it to tomorrow once again. In
the not too distance future I'm going to run out of tomorrows.
