August 4, 2014

Another exciting and noteworthy day in the life of me. The best part was probably the mid-afternoon nap. I haven't taken one in awhile and it made me wonder why I haven't been taking advantage of all my free time before school starts again.

I crocheted for awhile today, adding an inch or so to my sister's project and starting another coaster. This is coaster three and I think my goal is four. At least for my friend. That just seems like a good number of coasters to have. The more the merrier I suppose but four seems like a decent start.

I gave serious thought to starting the picnic table project today but didn't get around to pulling it out from under the deck until this afternoon. Upon closer inspection, at least one board needs to be replaced, which means all the boards should probably be replaced because it would look weird with four old boards and one brand new one. Also, when I tipped it on its side to sweep the spiderwebs off the bottom, I noticed holes had rusted all the way through the metal legs in certain places. So, I could replace all the boards and bolts, paint it, and Either try to fix or ignore the leg situation. Or, I could build an all new table. I proposed the idea to my mom and she showed interest in the new table idea.

I took a shower as soon as I got back inside because I didn't want to experience another spider episode in my bedroom. I shook my shoes and all my clothes in a mildly violent fashion as I took them off and appeared to be spider free. The shower further lent to my peace of mind.

I spent a decent amount of time looking at picnic table plans this afternoon. I found a few traditional ones but then I found one made entirely out of two-by-fours and I really like the look of it. The top has five boards surrounded by a frame of boards, with maybe a half inch of space between all the boards. The benches are the same design with just one board inside the frame. The benches and table are connected together with two more boards on each side running just above the ground, on either side of each leg. I'm not sure if that description makes any sense but it is a good looking table and I want to make. I told my mom it could be a housewarming gift. Mainly because I don't really want to build it here and then have to figure out how to get it to the new house. It looks heavy as hell.

Tonight I watched another CoD livestream with Hutch and Fwiz and company. Yesterday there was an argument over Hutch pulling out a sniper rifle at an inopportune time an losing a match. Tonight they were ahead a few games and Hutch went started playing with his sniper rifle again and this annoyed his team quite a bit and they all started yelling at him. Both Fwiz and Hutch were streaming and all of the kids in Hutch's chat were talking shit about Fwiz and all the kids in Fwiz's chat were talking shit about Hutch. Then Fwiz went into Hutch's chat and started talking more shit just to get them even more riled up. It was all very entertaining. The team were all frustrated at each other because they were losing but they're all friends and sometimes friends just need to get pissed at each other. Then they laugh and go back to the game because it is in fact a game. It is interesting seeing all the people in chat who seem to take it all a little too seriously.

I did one load of laundry because after putting it in I forgot about it for maybe four or five hours. I decided midnight was a little too late to be starting another load. I wasn't in urgent need and tomorrow will be just fine.

I was in the mood once again to play video games tonight. I've seen several CS: GO videos recently and a lot of GMod games which use CS maps, so I decided to try that out. I got all the Counter Strike games awhile ago, mostly for GMod games, and because way back in the day on the original Xbox, I think, I played a bit of Counter Strike. I sucked at it but every now and then I'd have a clutch match. Tonight I didn't end up going online with it but I did run through the training and played a few games again easy bots. It allowed me to see that I would have gotten my ass handed to me had I been playing against real people, but I still had fun.

Next I wanted to play Tera because I haven't played that in quite awhile but after it updated the log-in screen got stuck in a loop. I would sign in, the log-in pop-up would disappear like normal, but instead of the play button beneath it becoming active the pop-up would pop up again asking for my log-in information. I tried various things to fix this issue but nothing worked. That was annoying because I kinda got myself hyped up to play a little bit and then nothing.

Instead, I played Pool Nation. Still a surprisingly fun game. I'm not good by any means but I have pulled off several badass shots. And every now and then it is on purpose. A big thing that I learned tonight is that you don't necessarily have to hit the next ball, in the order of balls, into the pocket. You have to hit it first but instead of going for the pocket you can use it to knock another ball in. And you get combo points for it. This was a very important discovery. At some point I should probably read the rules.
