Last night I wanted to get to bed at a decent time. I think my goal
was eleven o'clock, midnight at the latest. But then I had to go to
the bathroom. I left my door open and when I returned, Tanner was on
my bed. There was a storm outside and all the dogs were freaking
out. Tanner usually goes into the tub in my bathroom but last night
he took advantage of my open door. And then Beau followed me into my
room. After awhile I felt bad for Alfie because she was huddled up
right outside my door so I let her in, too. Tanner stayed on my bed
and Beau and Alfie took up residence on my floor.
Around two o'clock the storm died down and I wanted to go to sleep.
I got Beau and Alfie to follow me out of my room and gave them each a
Cheez-It because that is what I went out to get so I could bribe them
with it. Tanner was another story. He didn't want to leave my bed.
I started out holding the Cheez-It by my door and he raised his head
but that was about it. After walking up to him I got him to stand up
and lean out about as far as he could but he would actually get off
the bed so I moved him down to the floor. Then I coaxed him a few
feet forward but as soon as he realized I was tempting him toward the
door with the Cheez-it he started to back up. So I physically
started moving him toward the door.
By the time we got to the door Beau was trying to get back in and he
started growling at Tanner. I eventually got Beau to move away but
he laid down in the corner of the hallway across from my room, not
leaving much room for Tanner. He usually sleeps right outside my
door but he wouldn't be able to walk by Beau to get to the tub if he
wanted to. But it was after two o'clock and I was tired. Despite
that, it took me awhile to fall asleep because I was too focused on
the possibility of a dog fight in the hallway and how hard that would
be to break up. Thankfully nothing came of the growling and I was
able to fall asleep.
Nothing of consequence happened today. I had dreams of being
productive today and instead I did very little. I didn't even leave
the house. I was in a cartoon mood so I watched The Tigger Movie.
Afterward I went back through and took a bunch of screencaps to turn
into desktop wallpapers. I ended up taking over forty and that
freaked out Gimp. I wanted to get them all pasted in and then go
back through and edit them. Over forty triple-monitor screencaps
open at the same time was too much for Gimp to handle and it kind of
froze. I ended up leaving it for most of the day but when I came
back I found that I could click a picture, wait several seconds, and
then had a small window of time where I could minimize the picture.
After minimizing most of them Gimp started functioning normally again
and I was able to crop out the correct screencap, edit them, and save
them. I'm happy with the outcome even if it took forever.
Right after The Tigger
Movie I went old school with The
Many Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh.
That is the one I remember from my childhood. I was surprised by
how much of it I remembered. I really like how there is a narrator
and he references the story like it is happening in a book. So when
Pooh gets stuck in Rabbit's house, the back of him is trapped on page
28 and the front of him is trapped on page 30. I remember my mom's
copies of the books on her shelf and looking through them when I was
really young. I can't remember ever actually reading more than a few
pages so at some point I need to actually read all the stories.
I unpinned my coasters and dishcloth
today and they look better than they did before the blocking. So I
did something right. Next I need to start working on my mom's thing.
Originally it was going to be a dishcloth but now she wants
something more along the lines of hot pads. I can do that.
It is one o'clock right now but
tomorrow I plan on waking up at six o'clock. Eight o'clock at the
latest. That way I will hopefully be sufficiently tired at a
reasonable hour tomorrow night so I can go to bed and get a decent
night of sleep before waking up at six o'clock to get ready for work.
I can't wait to go back to work. I'm tired of sitting at home.
