Last night I played a little more Half-Life
before bed, after looking up a hint because it was annoying me that I
was stuck. I ended up making quite a bit of progress but then got
stuck again so I gave up. Not for good, hopefully, but I needed a
break.
I ended up not getting much sleep
last night because right as I was about to fall asleep Alfie freaked
out at nothing and her barking completely woke me up. Ridiculous.
Regardless of my lack of sleep, I
managed a two-minute plank this morning. I thought my shoulders were
going to fall off but I totally did it. According to the schedule
I'm following I am supposed to be another two-minute plank tomorrow
and be able to bump it up to two and a half minutes the day after. I
don't think that I will be able to manage that but I'm certainly
going to try. Maybe.
Today at work I made significant
progress on my cross stitch and read The Importance Of
Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde.
It is a short play and it was great. The absurd/hilarious style of
it reminded me a lot of A Confederacy of Dunces by
John Kennedy Toole and Three Men In A Boat
by Jerome K. Jerome. Two of my favorite books. At some point, maybe
this weekend, I want to rent the latest movie adaptation of The
Importance Of Being Earnest. If
it is even half as good as the book it'll be pretty funny.
Tonight was Chipotle night and for
the first time in at least a couple weeks I was able to show some
videos, at least a few of which actually entertained my mom, so that
is a plus. As for getting Chipotle, and Jimmy Johns for my mom, it
felt like all the college kids were back in town, even though college
doesn't start for at least a few more weeks. So I don't know what
was going on but I had to circle around several times before luckily
finding a spot in the Chipotle parking lot, and then felt like a bit
of a dick when I walked to Jimmy Johns first before becoming a
Chipotle customer. But I didn't get towed and no one keyed my car so
I got away with it.
After dinner I watched YouTube
videos and went on a long delivery in Euro Truck Simulator
2. I feel like I need to start
shortening that to ETS2.
I didn't want to worry about my own truck so I just picked up a
random delivery across Europe that took me over 700 miles. It was a
haul. And I enjoyed it except when I would get stuck behind a slow
vehicle on a two-lane road with constant oncoming traffic.
Tomorrow should be a pretty full
day. Work, a visit with the new volunteer kid, and then hanging out
with my friend who got into town today. I have not seen him since
the last time he was in town, whenever that was, so it'll be good to
hang out with him. And now I am going to go to sleep.
