In general, I'm not a big fan of
goldfish crackers. I think they taste kind of weird. At least they
do in my memory because I haven't had them in forever because I
remember them tasting weird. That being said, I recently discovered
that parmesan cheese goldfish crackers are delicious. I'm usually
not a big fan of parmesan cheese, much like regular goldfish
crackers, but together they work.
Once again this morning I had
absolutely no motivation to get out of bed. I lost track of how many
times I woke up and then laid around until I fell back to sleep. I
did eventually get up, though, around eleven o'clock. I wish I could
do that without feeling the guilt of avoiding cleaning out the old
house. That whole business is kind of ruining the last week of
winter break. Work can't start fast enough.
For lunch I had a peanut butter and
apple butter. I ran out of biscuits for the apple butter and for
toast I'd have to dig out the toaster and go through that whole
thing. So I think I'm going to start using the apple butter on my
peanut butter sandwiches. It works. Much like the parmesan goldfish
crackers I referenced earlier.
Despite my afternoon arrival to the
old house, in the literal sense of arriving shortly after noon, I
made a lot of progress today. I went through the clothes in my
closet, picking out the ones I definitely wouldn't wear again. Then
I moved almost everything out of my room so I could take down all the
posters on my walls and ceiling. I moved everything after I took the
first poster off the ceiling because of the incredible amount of dust
present on the top of the poster. Turns out it really accumulates
after many many years of being on a ceiling. So I moved everything
out and covered up my computer. I have ingested so much dust in the
past week. After I got all the posters down I took them outside so I
could wipe off all the dust before rolling them up.
I left the house a little before
five o'clock so I could head home and eat dinner before heading to
work. When I got to work I walked the shows and fixed the lens on a
couple shows where the patrons had watched almost the entire movie
with the movie small on the screen because the scope lens wasn't
down. One reason projectionists are still kind of important. Or at
least an attentive manager.
I went down to manually close the
curtains in one of the theaters that was showing a flat movie but the
curtains were stuck open, like for a scope movie. And then all the
other movies started getting out so I volunteered to stay downstairs
and help clean, even though they probably could have gotten along
without me. Then I went back upstairs and started reading my Van
Gogh book until I started to nod off, at which point I switched to
Fantasy Life.
When all of the movies had started I
went down to use the bathroom and ended up being sent home because we
were slow. We've been super busy all week but on the day I work
we're dead. But I didn't really mind being sent home at eight
o'clock because I was tired.
I spent the rest of my night
watching Modern Family
and playing Fantasy Life,
with a short break to talk to my friend on the phone. He was on his
way to see a movie and was telling me about all the places he'll be
traveling in the coming weeks. He leads a much more active life than
I do. And that doesn't even include the flying around in badass jets
part.
Tomorrow I open at the theater and
we should be busier but who the hell knows if I'll get sent home
early or not. If I am sent home that will mean more time at the old
house, something I'm not necessarily looking forward to. I need to
start loading stuff up and unloading it at the new house. Not
looking forward to that.
