January 12, 2015

Kidney stones be damned, I started exercising today. Probably the famous last words of someone who will be writing about writing about kidney stones in the near future. Also, it was probably to start today because it was also the first day of MAP testing and that sucked balls.

I was pretty much on my feet the entire day, other than twenty minutes during my lunch break. There was a test first thing in the morning, which overlapped with the second test because not all the kids finished in the first test. Right after the second test kids left another class came in just to use the lab. That sucks because it means I have to log back into the test. On the plus side, I caught most of them before they could log off the computer so I only had to log back into the testing server on a few computers.

During my too-short lunch I ate and read a book. Then it was back to testing. There was a test right after lunch and as soon as the last kid finished a kindergarten class came to the lab because they lost their lab times this week due to testing. And right after they left I had just enough time to log students in for the next test. There wasn't supposed to be a fourth test today but the first grade teacher who tested this morning decided to take her second test this afternoon because all her kids were here.

So, with exercising this morning and standing and bending over to write down scores all day, my body, especially my legs, are a little upset. I was going to go through some clothes at the old house after work but instead I just sat and checked internet things. I needed to get off my feet and it felt amazing to just sit, even if my office chair really isn't that comfortable.

Tonight on the way home I saw a cable truck sitting a street up from us. A street that doesn't actually exist yet because their isn't a paved road or houses. I was briefly annoyed that the cable company would be wiring that street when they completely ignored ours. Then my mom told me the cable guy had been on our street and she went out and talked to him. He was getting things set for cable, which doesn't matter anymore because we have Dish, but he also said he was 90% sure the internet would be available very soon. He didn't know much because he was only a technician, but he said it was due to the newest neighbor calling and getting ahold of just the right person, who promised something they probably weren't supposed to, and that lead to the cable company finally coming to our street. That is nice, especially if it means we can get the internet, but it is also pretty frustrating because my mom talked to so many people on so many different occasions and it led nowhere. The delay has cost the cable company a considerable amount of money in terms of us being cable and phone subscribers (even if that isn't even a drop in their very large bucket) but hopefully we can get the internet from them.

As for the rest of my night, I watched a Resident Evil marathon on SyFy, read a few more chapters in my book, and played Fantasy Life. I was relatively close to becoming a Hero Woodcutter so I spent my time doing that tonight, eventually obtaining the rank. The next time I play I'll jump into mining. Probably.

Now I'm going to go to bed so I can wake up and enjoy another day of MAP testing. We'll see how I feel in the morning to determine whether or not I exercise. At the very least I'd like to do something just to keep the momentum going. Maybe just upper body stuff. I have a feeling my legs are going to be dead tomorrow.
