I've had a headache since this
afternoon so we'll see how much effort I put into this.
I helped with literacy centers in
both kindergarten classes this morning. Both went relatively well.
In my second group I had the kid who is ridiculously good at drawing.
Earlier in the year he drew a picture of me and nailed it. Today he
drew an accurately shaped duck and a pretty good cow. He drew the
duck without even looking at the picture in the book. I just hope he
keeps drawing. He has genuine talent.
I finished the channel guide for my
mom and printed that out today. I noticed a few formatting things
after I printed it, and I fixed them, but I wasn't going to print it
again. Despite the formatting things, it came out pretty well. And
my mom ended up liking it so that's what matters.
This afternoon I figured out how to
print on note cards. One of the printers in the lab wouldn't make a
custom paper size small enough but thankfully the other one would. I
then made cards in Publisher for each of the kindergarteners with
their name and lunch number and printed them out. These will be used
by them to log themselves into Compass Learning. My plan is to get
them started on that after winter break.
After work I got gas, went to Home
Depot to finally get polyurethane for my desks, and then I stopped by
Target. I got Honey Nut Cheerios. I haven't had them since at least
middle school, maybe even grade school, and they are as good as I
remember.
Tonight I watched TV and cross
stitched. I made it through the first 'g' in 'disgusting'. And that
took me over two hours. I have reached the inevitable point of any
craft project where I just want it to be done. I still really like
it but I'm ready to move onto something else. I still have things I
want to knit and crochet. And I want to play Minecraft.
And now I want to go to bed so I'm
going to do that.
