I believe I forgot to mention it but the other day Beau definitely
sang along with a country song. The dogs always bark and howl for
about a minute after they are put in their room, where they have to
go when we leave the house for an extended period of time to prevent
Tanner from peeing on something. During this minute of barking and
howling, some country song came on the radio (which we turn on as
background noise) and in the song there is a bit where the dude sings
a long note. Beau matched it perfectly with his howl. It was
ephemerally amazing.
Today went by fairly fast. This morning I watched DVRed stuff and
started knitting the headband for my favorite substitute teacher,
using the materials in the gift she gave me. I've got a long way to
go but I finished twenty or so rows, including to cables. I'll get
there eventually.
This afternoon I came over to the old house but didn't make much
progress. I started sorting stuff in my room. Keep it, toss it,
send it to Goodwill. There is way too much in the keep it category.
I would really like to just throw everything out. Absolutely
everything. But I know I'd regret that in the future. So I'll
continue to sort. I came back over after dinner and started going
through the desk that has always been in my room but I've only ever
used it to stack stuff on or shove stuff in the drawers. It's a
pretty crappy desk but it is good at holding things. I came across a
whole bunch of buttons I made years ago and it really made me want to
start putting buttons on my jackets again. That might have to become
a thing.
For dinner I made one of the bags of pasta I got from my dad and
step-mom yesterday. It came with a bag of seasoning that you add
water to and then reduce down. Everything turned out well, and I
really liked the pasta, but the seasoning was a bit too hot for me.
Probably should have tasted it before mixing the pasta in. My whole
tongue was burning and I ended up having to eat a baby carrot with
dill dip in between bites of the pasta to try and reduce the burning.
I still have a lot of pasta left over but I need to find a way to
make it not so spicy because I can only eat so many baby carrots.
Tomorrow will involve more work at the old house. My room is a mess
and I need to fix that. Still so tempting to just get rid of all the
things.
