I got to sleep in again this
morning, which was nice, and then I put up the Christmas lights on
the house. It was a bit chilly and the breeze sucked but I survived.
My mom got little clips that go on the gutter and the lights clip
onto them. This meant I didn't have to worry about doing anything
permanent, like putting in nails or hooks. At least on the bit of
the house above the garage. I also put lights on the two posts by
the front door and the area between them. That involved hammering in
a few tiny nails. But I got it done and I think it took me less than
two hours. Not bad. We'll see how my legs are feeling in the
morning after all of the up and down with the ladder.
I spent the rest of my day watching
TV and cross stitching. That is a pretty good way to spend a Sunday.
The series premiere of The Librarians
was on today so this afternoon they played the three Librarian
movies. I'm a fan. Even before I was seriously considering becoming
a librarian. The movies didn't influence my decision in any way,
because although all the magic stuff would be cool, being an Indiana
Jones-type adventurer is not appealing.
Tonight, I watched The
Librarians (twice because they
replayed it after the first showing) and cross stitched. With the
work I put in yesterday and several hours today, I'm about halfway
done. I am liking how it looks so far. Depending on my level of
motivation, I might be able to finish it this week. I am interested
to see how much the para I'm making it for is willing to pay for it.
The problem with crafty things is that their true monetary worth is
far greater than most people are willing to pay. I certainly won't
be getting a minimum wage out of it. I would say that is the reason
most people on Etsy sell patterns rather than actual finished cross
stitches or knitted things. Anyway, I generally don't get paid for
the things I make so any amount of money would beat nothing. Also, I
liked coming up with the pattern and it is fun to be cross stitching
again.
With the watching of TV and the
making of the crafty things, along with doing laundry, I didn't go
over to the old house tonight to do internet things. It gets really
annoying having to drive back and forth every night to use the
internet. Not doing that might become a thing. The internet is such
a time-sink and I can be way more productive with things I want to do
without the distraction of the internet. I've got access to it all
day at work during the week, and I will probably still go over after
work, but maybe I won't go over after dinner. Unless there is a
livestream or something I want to watch. We'll see.
