I got to sleep in this morning, and I kind of had to force it, but it
was nice. I was wide awake shortly after seven o'clock but I refused
to get out of bed at that time so I napped off and on until 9:30AM
when I finally got out of bed. Then I spent the rest of my morning
doing a lot of nothing. And I enjoyed every minute of it.
This afternoon my mom and I went to Staples to get my birthday chair.
I sat in so many chairs and that was surprisingly exhausting. First
World problems. The number of chairs was mildly overwhelming but
after sitting in at least twenty chairs, several times, I narrowed it
down to a few. The saleswoman was well-informed and pretty helpful,
not overly pushy or anything, and she didn't hover. That was nice.
I was vacillating between two chairs, one of which mainly because it
had so many different adjustment options, and the other because the
arms could be moved up and out of the way (not just raised up and
down). But I ended up going with a third option because it was
really comfortable.
For fun I tried out the $250 and $550 chairs. The $250 was a
Tempur-Pedic and it was surprisingly hard and uncomfortable. The
$550 chair was pretty nice and would be good for more of a work
situation, it being very breathable and firm, with a lot of
adjustment options, but I wanted something more comfy. And it didn't
seem like something I would want to spend $550 on. For that kind of
money it should have immediately felt like the best thing I had ever
sat on, and it was just a chair.
It didn't take me that long to put together when I got home, and I
briefly thought I would have to take it apart again to get it into my
room, but I moved the bookcase and just barely got it in. It is
leaps and bounds above the chair I was using but it isn't quite as
comfortable as the one in the store. Which means I need to break it
in because that one had probably been sat in a lot. So hopefully
that doesn't take too long, but even now it is comfortable. After
getting it in my room I got to rocking back and forth in it and
practically rocked myself to sleep. I ended up laying down and
taking a tiny nap.
I had a somewhat productive night. I emailed the parent who is
working on the yearbook with me, I finished my third potholder, I did
some laundry, I filled out the questionnaire for jury duty, and I
packed up the AverMedia LGP so I can send that back to Amazon
sometime this week. I decided not to go the RMA route with AverMedia
and I'll just get my money back through Amazon. My mood to record PC
gameplay has decreased for the time being, mainly due to the fiasco
of of the LGP. Now I can put that money toward the tablet I want to
get. I also called my grandma and talked to her for a little bit and
invited her to my birthday dinner tomorrow night. We are going to a
Chinese buffet. She said she doesn't eat a lot at night but we are
going to go over to her house after for cake and ice cream, which is
what we typically do on birthdays. So I am looking forward to that.
Shortly I plan on going to bed. Because I like sleep. And I have to
wake up in the morning. Possibly early enough to exercise.
Possibly.
