May 2, 2013

This morning it was kind of snowing and kind of raining. Not like wet snow or something but it was as if the rain drops were half frozen. So they were still like rain drops when they hit, just a little heavier. It was strange. And cold.

It was another day at work. I read with kindergarteners in the morning, had one MAP test, and then the regular schedule of classes the rest of the day. In the in-between times I figured out more about merging Excel spreadsheets into Word to make labels. I figured out how to edit the font of the final labels, which can be done once for the labels on the template page instead of having to go through each individual label, and that will come in handy. Now I just need MAP testing to finish up so I can get the final scores and make the labels for the note cards.

Other than the label thing, my biggest accomplishment for the day was learning how to copy two random pages on the copier and then print them back-to-back. One of the paras showed me. In the past when I needed to make something two-sided and I didn't already have two one-sided pages, I would make two one-sided pages and then run them through on the one-sided to two-sided setting. I learned today though that the copier can scan one page, then scan another page, and turn that into a two-sided page. I was aware that this could be done but I was thinking it was in the scan option of the copier. But it wasn't. So I asked the para and she showed me and now I can save a couple sheets of paper when I'm copying stuff for people.

After work I took a nap and it was pretty great. Then I had the second half of my Chipotle burrito for dinner and eventually went to see the new volunteer kid. It was a typical, 45-minute visit. He asked about his class ring again and I told him that we just got the money for it so the order would probably be placed fairly soon. Other than that he said life and school were going pretty well. He had nothing to report anyway. We went to Sonic and I decided to change things up so instead of getting a cherry limeade I got a peach mango limeade. It was interesting and the first sip took me by surprise but it ended up being pretty good. It tasted like candy.

Now I think I am going to record my day. And my yesterday because I didn't get around to doing that. Then I'll probably continue watching YouTube videos and clicking around the internet. That's kind of my thing.
