Today was a really long day. There were the last three state
assessments and another MAP test. That meant half of my day was
spent on my feet, watching kids take tests. Not the most exciting of
days at work.
After work I went to my brother's last home track meet of the year.
I stood with my dad and sister and talked while my brother briefly
ran. His first race was at 4:30PM and it was a relay. He ran by us
twice. His next race wasn't until after eight o'clock. We stood
around and talked until six o'clock and then parted ways. I needed
to go home and eat dinner before calling the new volunteer kid to see
if we had a visit.
It turned out we didn't have a visit. He had Chemistry labs to work
on or something and didn't have the time. Kind of a bummer because
it makes me look like a delinquent volunteer but I had plans to hang
out with my friend when I got back into town so we just moved those
plans forward.
We went and got slushies and then went back to her house and
continued watching season six of Dexter.
I have no idea when we actually started watching that season but I
do vaguely remember a lot of what we previously watched and bits and
pieces came back to me as we watched. While watching we also had
some random conversation. I am always up for random conversations.
But now it is late and I spent way
too much time on my feet today. That is exhausting. Tomorrow is
going to be an equally long day, not for the standing but because I
have to work at the theater. I hate that place.
