I didn't get much sleep last night so thankfully today was a pretty
gentle introduction to a new week.
When I got to work I was off desk for two hours. I spent the first
part of that two hours refilling the tax booklets, the DVD display,
and the audiobook display. I don't have the DVD display this month
but it was running low, the librarian who has it wasn't coming in
until noon, and the DVD display is easy.
I then got some feedback on my active shooter cheat sheet from my
boss, who got some feedback from the assistant director, so I made a
few changes. I then printed out several copies for my boss to take
to the managers' meeting tomorrow. Hopefully that will lead to more
feedback so we can get a final version made and distributed
throughout the building. I then read articles until I was on desk.
I was on desk for two hours and the first hour was pretty quiet, and
it was over before I knew it. The second hour picked up and I
answered a lot of phone calls and helped the occasional patron. Most
of my time, however, was spent reading library-related articles. And
I nearly caught up with my backlog of articles that I get sent every
day.
When I got back from lunch I had a walkthrough and then I disappeared
upstairs to the cubicle for the rest of the day. I read a few
articles, listened to music, and spent most of my time playing around
with Twinery. It took a little while but it finally started to click
with me again. You can do so much with it and I really wish I would
stick with it and actually create something using it. I most likely
won't, but you never know. I do feel ready for the workshop coming
up. No one has signed up for it yet, and no one signed up for it the
last time I offered it, so I'm not holding my breath. I'll survive,
and maybe learn my lesson this time around.
When I got home I made rice and roasted vegetables. Having knowingly
had both now, I feel fairly confident in saying Jasmine rice is
better than Basmati rice. At least given my very limited sample
size. So at some point I need to get more Jasmine rice. I also want
to get more quinoa. It's been awhile since I've had it and I think
that would be a good addition to my frequent rice and vegetable
dinners.
I watched videos while I ate dinner and then I played CoD: WW2 for
awhile. I've had better games, but I've also had worse, so I can't
complain. I had fun, and that's what is important.
And now it is nearly midnight. Still sucking at getting a full night
of sleep during the week.
