Today was pretty uneventful. Much like most of my days during the
weekend.
I woke up this morning and finished reading the Flintstones
comic before getting out of bed. It is really interesting how they
made it more real, tying it into a lot of modern things, like veteran
issues. It also kind of craps on the cartoon by pointing out how
awful the lives of their “appliances” are, because they are
living animals. It makes me want to go back to the cartoon, or even
the live action movie, because I want it to be fun again, not mildly
depressing.
The rest of my morning was spent watching videos and playing
Subnautica. I built a couple more scanner rooms in different
places and relied on strategic saves several times because I kept
getting killed trying to explore a wreck. It would be nice if they
would include the option to reload the last save, rather than having
to quit out to the menu and load back in. I seem to have stalled out
a bit with the story of the game, so I think I want to focus on
building a cooler base. Or maybe jumping into a different game mode
so I can build with unlimited resources.
I read more of Chuck Palahniuk's upcoming book Adjustment Day.
I've heard that it is kind of all over the place for awhile but then
it all comes together. I'm still in the all over the place phase of
the book and it's taking a bit of work to keep track of things, but
I'm interested to see where it's going.
I played more CoD: WW2 and my game crashed again. It was on a
different map than yesterday, but it was still one of the new maps,
so that's annoying. I might need to look into other things that may
need updated. Or just hope for a patch that fixes it. When the game
wasn't crashing, I had fun. Along with other things, I played more
of the new War map. It's definitely quicker than the other maps, and
it also seems more of an all or nothing sort of map. You either get
a good team and make it to the end, or your team gets stuck in the
mud and it's no fun for anyone.
I also played more of the campaign for the first time in months.
There is a tank level, and I really liked the first part of it,
because you feel like a badass in your tank. And then there was tank
battle and I lost all respect for the level. The controls for the
tank are awful and that just made the whole thing really frustrating.
I needing like twenty feet of mouse pad just to move the turret on
the tank. I'm surprised I didn't start a fire from the friction of
me trying to frantically move my mouse over and over again. It was
also really glitchy because I kept going inside the enemy tanks. But
other than that, I had fun with the campaign. I have no idea how
close I am to the end but I'm definitely getting closer.
Tomorrow, maybe I'll do some things. Probably not, but you never
know.
