The third day of the new year has arrived and it was only with slight
hesitation that I typed the correct year in my date. Progress.
Once again my day was nothing to write home about. Same old thing.
I can't wait to go back to work on Monday. I am finding it difficult
to write anything worthwhile about my day. I slept in, watched
YouTube videos, took a nap, and eventually went to work. I would say
the only thing of note, that is coming to mind anyway, is that I
stepped out of my room with my lit candle before blowing it out.
Previously I have been blowing it out while still in my room, which
then fills my room with that smell, which does a good job of
overshadowing the nice candle smell. So that was an improvement.
At work tonight I played Animal Crossing and read books. I
continued reading On Killing: The psychological Cost of Learning
to Kill in War and Society by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman, Graveyard
Shift by Chris Westwood, and The Mother Tongue: English And
How It Got That Way by Bill Bryson. I also started reading The
History And Technique Of Lettering by Alexander Nesbitt. It was
an informative night to say the least. A night which is still
ongoing thanks to a midnight show, but I am taking a break to write
this because I know I will be less inclined at two o'clock in the
morning.
I started to think about my personal statement for graduate school.
I might start working on that after I finish this. I've got the
first two or three sentences kind of figured out. Which is more than
I have ever had before so it is worth noting. Now I just need to get
the rest of it. Baby-steps haven't really worked for me in the past
so I need a different tactic. Having someone behind me, dramatically
kicking me off a cliff would be very helpful. So instead I will try
just normal steps, which will hopefully lead to a snowballing
scenario that picks up a bit of speed and eventually ends with me
going to graduate school. Here's to hoping.
