November 27, 2013

No work today and not a lot going on. So this will be an exciting entry. I learned about Pokemon because I missed that whole thing when I was a kid but I have always been interested. Not really in the battling aspect but my favorite part of any game is collecting everything I can pick up, and I think one of the main catchphrases of Pokemon is “collect 'em all”. I could be wrong about that but I'm not going to look it up. Anyway, I learned about all this stuff today because I'm thinking about getting one of the new Pokemon games on the 3DS. When I get a 3DS. I wanna be one of the cool kids. I also watched a lot of Digimon on Netflix, because they didn't have any Pokemon, but also because I did watch it years ago when it was on TV. I enjoyed the sarcasm. And still do.

I watched more bouldering videos. I'm still still incredibly impressed by the absurd level of strength those guys and girls have in their fingers. And the rest of their bodies. The outside, in nature stuff looks far too scary but the inside rock wall stuff seems more doable. In a I'm-never-gonna-do-it kind of way. I kind of want to get a fingerboard now. I don't even know if I can do regular pullups but I might as well jump right into finger pullups. In that same train of thought, sort of, I did actually exercise today. I can't remember what my streak is but I think it is at least a few days in a row. I enjoy exercising when I can find the motivation to actually start exercising.

At Chipotle tonight I got a burrito bowl, in anticipation of Thanksgiving leftovers for the next few days. I didn't want half a burrito just hanging out in the fridge, taking up space. The bowl was really good. I haven't had one in forever and that is a shame because I enjoy them. I don't go through the effort of squeezing lemons on my burritos but I do on my bowls because it makes them extra delicious.

I finished reviewing old sections on Duolingo and moved onto animals. There was: oso (bear), tortuga (turtle), caballo (horse) (which is tricky because it is very close to onion (cebolla)), pajaro (bird), pato (duck), arana (spider), cangrejo (crab), perro (dog), gato (cat), elefante (elephant), and my favorite – pinguino (penguin). The best sentence of the day was “Yo soy un pinguino.”

And lastly, I may be returning my new headphones. They have started crushing my left ear, and that is uncomfortable. So I think I will return them and try one of the other headphones I had picked out when I was researching headphones.
