Today was a pretty uneventful day. After sleeping in, I spent most
of my day watching YouTube videos, coming up with some new craft
ideas thanks to Pinterest, and learning (or remembering) Spanish with
the help of the Duolingo website. I need to look into the word
endings more because I keep getting you and they mixed up. I and we
are easy, 'o' and 'mos' respectively. I'll get better. Or I'll keep
guessing and eventually lose interest in Spanish, much like I would
do after a week or two in class for the the six or so years I took it
in school.
Tonight at work I finished reading Aliens On Vacation by Clete
Barrett Smith. It was an enjoyable book. And despite the fact that
I bought it at the school book fair, and it is written for children,
it was pretty spot-on when it came to describing nervous first
interactions with girls. Also, the best thing about kids books, a
happy ending. As for the rest of work, I switched off reading two
other books that I would like to finish eventually, and did my best
to avoid the craziness of Catching Fire happening downstairs.
I switched schedules with someone so I will be opening tomorrow
instead of closing. I wish I would have thought to check the movie
schedule first though because we have a midnight showing of Catching
Fire. A movie which happens to be exactly eleven minutes shy of
three hours with all the ads and trailers added in. And it started
slightly after midnight thanks to the preshow, which means I won't be
clocking out until around three o'clock in the morning. I have to be
back at work sometime around eleven o'clock tomorrow morning so I
won't be getting even seven hours of sleep. That kind of sucks. I
am now reminded of why I didn't like closing on a Friday and then
opening on a Saturday. Especially when the manager decides to keep
me an extra three hours when it is completely unnecessary.
