Despite
yesterday feeling like a bit of a fail, I carried on today and ended
up being pretty productive.
For
the first forty-five minutes of my day at work I set up thirty iPads
for MAP testing. That should be the last time I have to handle that
many iPads, thankfully. At some point I'm probably going to have a
nightmare about having to do the same thing over and over and over
again on a million iPads.
The
iPad cart was right outside the gifted teacher's office so when I
finished the iPads I went in and updated her browsers so she could
use the programs she needs to write reports. Her issues were
probably fixed up until I left her office. Things always seem to go
wrong when I'm not there.
Following
that, I started tracking down and taking pictures of new kids for the
yearbook. I got all of them but one of them this morning and got the
last one during lunch. This afternoon I was able to edit a few of
them and hopefully Monday I'll be able to do the rest and get them
put in the yearbook.
I
also scanned and edited a few pictures for one of the sixth grade
teachers and helped the math enrichment teacher install printers on
her loaner laptop.
Throughout
the day I had classes in the lab but when I didn't, and when I wasn't
running around doing other things, I was able to tweak and print out
my resume, as well as update the curriculum vitae I made several
years ago. Tomorrow afternoon after all the resume and interview
presentations we are supposed to have one-on-one breakout sessions to
go over our resumes and I thought it would be a good idea to get some
tips on the curriculum vitae as well because that is what I'll need
for academic jobs.
Before
dinner I read the article I should have read for my discussion post,
and then after dinner I started writing the second version of my
discussion post. It was a little trickier, and I think my first one
might have been better, but I got it done. I also responded to a
post. Now I just need to do that at least once tomorrow and Sunday.
Preferably more than once.
More
emails were sent back and forth today for the group project, all
between me and the other guy working on the technology stuff. I'm
becoming a little more comfortable with what my role is in terms of
the paper but it still all feels a little up in the air. This
assignment is worth way too many points to still feel that way this
close to the deadline. After I get back from the workshop tomorrow I
need to sit down and really dig into this stuff. Hopefully people
will have sent me their slides by then so I can also get a better
idea of how the presentation is shaping up.
Now
I'm going to bed so I can wake up early and hit the road by eight
o'clock. Or at least close to eight o'clock.
