Last night I slept with my heating
pad. At least a few times during the night I felt a little twinge,
and didn't sleep that well, but the twinge never progressed any
further, so that is good.
Today the testing servers were back
up so we tested. Sixth grade got a lot of testing done in the
morning, trying to knock it out while things were working, and third
grade tested in the afternoon. During third grade I noticed that the
testing information seemed to update every fifteen minutes, based on
the close. So, on the hour, fifteen after, thirty after, and
forty-five after. Rather than a kid finishing their test and waiting
a random amount of time for the adaptive stuff to take place and
assign their next test, it seemed like we just had to wait until one
of those fifteen minute increments and the next test would be there.
That definitely wasn't the case last week when we had waits much
longer than fifteen minutes, and it might not be the case ever again,
but it was nice to see a method to the madness. I imagine it is
probably easier on the server to only update every fifteen minutes
instead of whenever a kid finished a test, but it is also really
inconvenient. A lot of kids who didn't finish today could have if
they had that down time back.
When I wasn't testing, there were
classes in the lab and I worked of pictures. I finally finished
editing the new sixth grade teacher's family picture and emailed her
that and the portrait of her that I cut out of the family picture. I
also had a little time at the end of the day to make a few slides for
the end of the year slideshow. I want to include the portraits for
this year but I am waiting on the CD to show up that has the high
quality images on it. I also need that for the yearbook, so
hopefully it shows up soon.
After work I went to the public
library and continued working on the flyer list. I am separating it
by sections of town and today came up with an order of delivery for
the first section. It is an interesting exercise, trying to
visualize best routes. The PR lady wants to also have a physical map
marked up with each spot and I think next time I might mark
everything because I think that will be a little easier than driving
around town in my head.
Tonight I replied to a discussion
post and read an article about preservation. For the discussion post
this week we have to right about a trend or issue in preservation and
I think I want to write about video games and emulators. I recently
read an article regarding that and I want to see if I can find more
information because it is pretty interesting.
Now I'm going to listen to music for
a little bit and then go to bed. Tomorrow there will be more testing
and probably other things. After work I plan on taking the dwarf
librarian drawing to the frame shop. It is frame-worthy and I want
to put it on my desk when I get my first library job.
