Waking up this morning was rough. Not necessarily because I was
incredibly groggy but I just didn't want to get up. I did eventually
though.
This morning we tore through presentations. The only topics I can
remember at the moment are library anxiety and digital humanities,
both of which were interesting. There ended up being two different
groups covering digital humanities and it sounded like a pretty
interesting topic. I spoke with one of the researchers for the first
group and he sent me his annotated bibliography so at some point in
the future I can look into the topic a little more. Both groups
mentioned quotes from Stephen Ramsay that other researchers had
quotes but neither group was able to find any articles by Ramsay. I
did some searching and found several different things, including his
blog, articles, videos, and book chapters, so I sent that to the guy
who sent me the annotated bibliography. He may have already been
aware of that stuff but I figured I'd send it his way just in case.
My group's presenter ended up going last and other than speaking
pretty quietly I think she did a pretty good job. I had to go up at
the end to talk about the research process and I did not do a very
good job. Once again I kind of just blacked out while I was talking
and I don't think I mentioned half of the things I had planned on
talking about. I probably should have written stuff down. Oh well.
We'll say I was just going fast because we were trying to wrap things
up and go home.
Normally class would have gone until five o'clock but we managed it
by 1:30PM. We ended up not getting that much snow. The estimates
were between one and five inches and in the end, I think one inch
might have been pushing it. By the time we left it had pretty much
cleared away. We probably could have stayed longer but I think
leaving early was out of consideration for the people having to
travel a long way back home and the potential for more snow coming
later. It was also nice being able to drive home when it was still
light outside.
Before heading out of town I made my now traditional stop at Spangles
and then headed out of town and back home without incident. When I
got home I wanted to do all the different things but in the end I
settled on doing laundry and playing Minecraft.
I needed a break from school stuff. Tomorrow I should be able to
finish up the reflective journal entry I started the other day. I
think it is the third one if I remember correctly. That is my goal
anyway. We'll see what happens. I also plan on sleeping in. That
is really my main goal. I can't wait to sleep in. I wouldn't mind
staying in bed all day. I would be completely on board with that.
