April 22, 2018

Today was pretty nice. This morning I slept in and then read in bed until I finished a book. After getting up I messed around with Elite Dangerous and got the browser window in game overlay working pretty well. It took a lot of fiddling but I eventually attached it to one of the controllers so I had more control over it's location in my ship. I could just put the controller on the desk and in the game it looked like it was in my lap, which is what I wanted. This way it didn't interfere with my view. It was pretty seamless to look down, see where I needed to go next, and then head that way. Typing is still a little tricky, having to find my keyboard each time, but other than that, it was pretty much exactly what I wanted.

After lunch I watched videos for awhile and then I played Shooty Fruity in VR. In the game you work at a grocery store and as you scan stuff at the register you also have to shoot giant fruit that is trying to attack you. It's a lot of fun.

For dinner I made another Hello Fresh meal. It was pasta with roasted vegetables and garbanzo beans, as well as Parmesan and goat cheese. There was a lot of flavor happening and it was really good. I was really surprised by how little pasta was used but when all the vegetables were thrown in it made a lot of food. I also made Bisquick biscuits, which might be the quickest/easiest thing I've ever made, and they were delicious.

After dinner I washed dishes, took a shower, and ironed my pants for the week. Then I played Duck Season, a VR game that is kind of a creepy take on Duck Hunt for the NES. I legitimately jumped at one point. It's interesting because there is the duck shooting game but there is also the stuff happening outside of the game. I like it. I made it through one ending but I've heard there are several. So I'm going to need to keep playing.

I played a little bit of Interkosmos, a VR game that puts you in a Cold War era Soviet space capsule that needs to re-enter the Earth's atmosphere. It's a bit claustrophobic and there are a lot of buttons and switches and knobs. I'm interested to see how it all plays out because I don't think I made it very far.

Now I'm going to go to bed because it's late and I'm tired. Almost always the best reason to go to bed.
