Good grief, it's late and tomorrow is going to suck due to lack of
sleep, so let's get to it.
This morning I slept in, ate breakfast, got ready, loaded up my car,
and headed to my Mom's to do laundry. While my laundry was going I
watched TV, including episodes of Star Trek: Next Generation
and the original Star Trek. There was an episode in the
original series were two planets had been at war with each other for
five-hundred years. They realized at some point along the way that
they couldn't maintain a war that long because of it's damage to
infrastructure and just regular horrors of war. Instead they
switched to fighting each other via a computer simulation. The
twist, however, was that each time the computer calculated the death
toll for a given simulated attack, those people in the affected area
would have to go into the disintegration machine and actually be
killed. I think they said it was over a million people each year
were lost to the war. It is interesting given our current world
where cyber attacks and terrorism are a real thing.
When my laundry was done I loaded up and went to the grocery store.
I need to start going when I get off work after closing because I am
not a fan of all the people. There were a lot of people there today,
especially in the produce section. Not a fan. Also, when I went to
checkout I picked a good lane, and then someone who works there said
a register several lanes away was open. I didn't really want to move
because I liked my spot but I am apparently too nice to say no. And,
as expected, as soon as I left my lane, the other one filled up with
several people, and the lane I was in filled up with several people,
robbing me of my spot. Brilliant move teenage employee. And me for
listening to a teenage employee.
I survived the grocery store and when I got home I washed my food
processor. Then I got to use it for the first time. I made an
avocado pistachio dip that I found on Pinterest. It was a little
rich, and I think I should have used less salt, but it was still
pretty tasty. Like what I imagine guacamole is supposed to taste
like. Also, fresh cilantro smells amazing.
I spent the rest of the night watching YouTube videos, playing GTAV,
and I started watching Riverdale. I never read the comic but
the idea of the live-action series intrigued me. And the show has
sucked me in. I'm usually not a fan of drama but I'm kind of hooked.
And now I need to stop writing so I can record my audio journal and
go to bed. It's going to be a long day with less than six hours of
sleep.
