During the middle of the night last
night my feet got cold so I had to throw another blanket on my bed
and turn my heater on. It was mildly inconvenient but I was nice and
cozy after that.
I ended up sleeping in a little bit and
then I made brunch. The recipe for scones did turn out to be pretty
easy, just as advertised. They were buttermilk scones and ended up
tasting pretty much like a sweet biscuit, thanks to the whipping
cream and sugar I put on top. They turned out well but they weren’t
as good as the ones my sister makes. Next time I want to try the
Betty Crocker recipe. I also made eggs and I think I have decided
that they are better when made with cold milk rather than cold water.
With the rest of my day I did other
things. I watched YouTube videos, movies, clicked around the
internet, and spent the majority of my day finishing Sphere by
Michael Crichton. I’ve been whittling away at that book for quite
awhile now and I finally finished it. It was interesting. I
wouldn’t rank it among my favorite books but it was decent. I’m
not quite sure how I feel about the ending. I’m about an hour into
the movie right now. We’ll see if I like it better.
While I ate dinner I watched Blindness
because I have wanted to watch it for years and it recently came back
to my attention after the book came up in conversation at work.
Another interesting movie. But after watching it I don’t know that
I will be reading the book. It gets pretty dark. Like really dark.
I would be interested to read the ending of the book, just to see if
there is more detail about how things end. The movie ends in an
interesting way but it also kind of ends in the middle of a sentence,
in a way. I’m curious if the book provides any more information or
if it also just kind of ends.
And that was pretty much my day.
Uneventful but I liked it. A nice relaxing day.
I’m starting the week with a closing
shift so I’ll get to sleep in a little bit tomorrow, which I’m
looking forward to. Tomorrow is also the first day of my ecourse on
online tutorials. I’m interested to learn new things but I’m not
really looking forward to basically having schoolwork again. I
assume I’m not supposed to work on it at home but I also don’t
want to sacrifice my time at work. We’ll see how things turn out.
Now I’m going to record my audio
journal and then finish watching Sphere.
