I
did things today and I felt much better about myself for doing so. I
picked out a license to analyze for an upcoming assignment and
claimed it on the discussion board. I also heard back from my
partner for the upcoming and it looks like we are going to be looking
deeper into the acquisition of image databases. At the moment I know
absolutely nothing so it will be an educational week. And most of my
day was spent reading seven chapters for my technology class. That
was really a setup for the paper I have to write this week. We have
to write about databases in libraries and I have to come up with two
other sources. Not sure where those are going to come from. It is
really hard to search for information about the history of databases
in libraries without just getting a bunch of results for History
databases. I'll figure it out.
After
dinner I finished up my reading and then watched The Oscars. It's
not over yet but the beginning was dominated by Mad
Max: Fury Road.
It was beginning to feel a little suspicious. Story-wise it was
pretty boring, lets drive out there and then come back again, but it
was visually impressive. I think Oscars pools at work are thing
people do and the sheer number of wins that Mad
Max got
had to have ruined almost everyone's picks. Chris Rock is hosting
and he has been pretty funny but I've got to say my favorite part has
been the commercials. Samsung has been killing it.
And...
holy cow. It kind of seemed like a foregone conclusion this year but
Leonardo DiCaprio just won his first Oscar. And speaking of killing
it, he nailed his acceptance speech. One that was not interrupted by
music even though he easily went over his time. Smart move on the
part of the guys in the control room. On a side note, Leonardo
DiCaprio always looks like he's got chewing tobacco in his lip. At
least every time I have seen him recently. Just an observation.
Soon
I'll probably be going to bed. It's already eleven o'clock but I'm
not tired. I'm afraid this will turn into another week of late
nights and poor sleep. At least this week I'll be able to put part
of the blame on schoolwork.
