This morning I went over to my Mom's around eleven o'clock. We ate
food and then went down to the basement to open presents. In the
last week or two my Mom got the fireplace fixed so we had that going
for ambiance and warmth. I was sitting too far away to get the
warmth, and the door kept getting opened to let the dogs in or out
and it was freezing outside. I feel like I spent most of the day
cold despite my best efforts.
I got some cool stuff. I got a green hand mixer that matches my food
processor. I bought potatoes the other day so I whip up some mashed
potatoes. I also got a box grater, flour sifter, and Pyrex dish to
add to my kitchen collection. I got a new, bigger umbrella, which
I'm pretty excited about but I don't think I'll get the chance to try
it out for awhile. And, my Mom got the three pages of the magazine
article I was in framed. It's pretty sweet. And, another and, my
sister made me biscuits and apple butter.
After presents we ate a little bit more and then I headed home around
three o'clock. I played a little more CoD: WW2, watched A
Charlie Brown Christmas, and started watching Psych: The
Movie. I took a break from that to iron my pants for the week
and then I laid down on the end of my bed in the dark, right in front
of my space heater, and zoned out for a little bit. I was the first
time I had felt warm all day. It was nice.
At seven o'clock I went back over to my Mom's house for dinner. We
did our traditional homemade pizza and mine was delicious as always.
After dinner we sat around and talked and watched TV for awhile. I
saw my first episode of Young Sheldon and it was pretty good.
I might need to check it out.
I got home a little before ten o'clock, finished Psych: The Movie,
and started writing this. I'm really tired so I'm not too far away
from going to bed. It would be really nice if I had tomorrow off. I
could use another day to sleep in and just hang around the house. Oh
well. It will be a short week and then another three-day weekend.
Something to look forward to.
