It is one o'clock in the morning but I am done with my collection assessment assignment.

This morning my alarm was set for seven o'clock but part of me really didn't want to get up and work on my assignment so I ended up laying there until eight o'clock. I may have drifted back to sleep at some point but I think most of the time was spent thinking about my assignment. A big part of my process when it comes to school assignment, or just life in general, is thinking. Copious amounts of thinking. Occasionally, if not usually, over thinking. But it's all part of the process. And it has worked for me so far. At least I'm pretty sure it has. We'll have to see what I get on the assessment assignment.

Throughout the day I worked on the assignment with breaks for lunch and dinner. There were also the briefest of tangents every now and then, but I was never distracted for that long. The assignment is due tomorrow and I set the goal of finishing it today. I have set a finishing goal previously but it was always too far away from the actual due date. I couldn't make myself believe that I actually needed to finish it. Last weekend or the weekend before, I couldn't will myself to finish the assignment. Not even a little bit. It was like fighting against a two ton weight sitting on my chest. Fighting it would have been pointless. Today, I was still having to fight against myself but the resistance was much easier to handle. Like wading through a waist-deep pool filled with pudding. Certainly not easy but doable.

I had originally planned on leaving the abstract and reference list for tomorrow but I was kind of in the zone so I managed to finish the whole thing tonight. I even read through it and edited it. I'm currently tired, however, so I'm not going to put all my faith in that first edit. I'll wait to read through it at least a couple more times tomorrow before I actually submit it.

In other school news, I posted to the weekly discussion thread again. That brings me up to six for the week, including my original post and five responses. I should be more than good because they span from last Sunday to today. I might make one more response tomorrow, just to make extra sure I get all the points.

I also did laundry tonight. Today was super productive.

Tomorrow I will submit my collection assessment assignment. That is obviously the main goal, finally putting a nail in this semester. Other than that, I'm not sure what I'll do. I'm kind of thinking a video game of some description may be involved. My first guilt-free video game game in quite awhile. I might also play with my new microphone. Or figure out my next craft project. Who knows. The world is my oyster.
