I think the main thing I forgot to
mention yesterday was that I worked on my collection assessment at
work. I did the same thing today. My main goal was to get a
template figured out, which I did. I started a new document, made
the title page, a table of contents, and put in the main section
titles. I even started writing an introduction. It was nice
learning that Word can automatically create a table of contents based
on the headings in the document, including the correct page numbers.
That is really convenient.
When I wasn't working on that, I
helped the resource teacher with her spreadsheet again, found a poem
for one of the substitutes, and had classes in the lab. This
afternoon there was an assembly for the choir kids. Nothing against
the kids but the assembly was way too long. Usually when it is just
individual grades putting on a performance the assembly is about
thirty minutes long. The choir performance was closer to an hour.
The attention span for kids is not that great. And I guess the same
could be said for myself. Which is a shame because the kids did a
good job.
Coming home after work was much
better because I only had to clean up one small puddle of pee. Way
better than two lakes and poop vomit.
My website for my academic libraries
class is due tomorrow and I wanted to submit it tonight so I wouldn't
have to worry about it. Then I was going to work on my assessment.
Right before submitting my link I made the wise choice to see what it
looked like in Firefox and IE because I did all my testing in Chrome.
Turns out the cool style I added to my titles only worked in Chrome.
So my quick, submit a link, turned into a few hours of work trying
to figure out a solution. Originally I wanted a solution that would
preserve the style across all browsers. Then just wanted it to
remain in just Chrome. Then I just wanted text to show up. It was a
whole thing. I found a way to get it to show up in Chrome and normal
text to show up in IE, but Firefox wouldn't get on board. I tried so
many complicated things and finally just said screw it and deleted
several lines of code and going real simple. It is unfortunate
because it doesn't look as good as it did before. I kept the code
in, just commented it out, so maybe sometime in the future it will
work across all browsers.
I also commented on a discussion
post for that class and wrote my final reflection, bring it all to a
close. Now all I have to worry about is my collection assessment. I
still have a whole lot of work to do but it feels slightly less
overwhelming than it did at the beginning of the week. I'm a little
worried about how comfortable I feel with it all but I've put in a
lot of the ground work so it is at least slightly deserved.
Hopefully I can get a little bit done tomorrow at work. Tomorrow is
my mom's birthday so we'll be doing birthday stuff tomorrow night and
I'm not sure how much time I'll have for school stuff. That will
leave the bulk of the work for Saturday. The goal now (which I've
said multiple times over the past few weeks) is to get all but maybe
the summary done on Saturday. That will leave Sunday to wrap it all
up, edit it, and get it submitted before midnight. A pretty solid,
last minute plan. It would be sweet if I didn't put the majority of
it off until Sunday.
My sleep schedule is still off
because we're coming up on eleven o'clock and I'm not really that
tired yet. Yawning, yes, but I don't feel like I'd fall asleep if I
went to bed. So I'll give it a little longer and then hope for the
best.
